Prof. Sanjai Bhatt
Department of Social Work University of Delhi

Dr. Sanjai Bhatt has received Master and Doctorate in Social Work and Law degree from Lucknow University. A highly proactive academician, Prof Bhatt is working with Delhi School of Social Work, University of Delhi since 1993. He is a social work educator, trainer, and development consultant with his felt presence over more than three decades. He has also taught in the Department of Social Work at University of Lucknow, MG Kashi Vidyapeeth Varanasi, Kurukshetra University and Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya (CGV). His areas of interest are Non-Profit Organisations, social work education, social legislations, social security, occupational social work, work and well being, HIV/AIDS, and environment. Working with people is his passion which makes him aworkaholic.
 
Under his supervision, twelve scholars have received their Doctoral degree ranging from HR field to social development. He has written /edited eight books, contributed chapters in 12 books, about 50 research papers, four monographs, and conducted dozensevaluative studies for national and international organizations. He has attended a significant number of National and international seminars/ Conferences. He has delivered many special lectures including KR Narayan Memorial Lecture at Bundelkhand University.Histhesis4W’s(Water,Work,WasteandWomen)inDevelopmentparadigm is widely accepted in academic fraternity. In order to bridge the gap between theory and practice,he has initiated manyi nnovative project slike University for Development Action and Integrated learning (UDAI-I) Project for rehabilitation of earthquake affected persons in Bhuj,Gujarat(2001),and UDAI-II for Reliefandrehabilitation of flood affected people in Supaul, Bihar (2008) which is still going on under CBO named as UDAI Sahyatri with the help of local volunteers.

He has been elected Executive member of International Committee of NGO Forum on ADB based in Philippines (2004-06). He has served as Jury member for awards. He has been on Board of ASSWI as treasurer (1993-97).

Dr Bhatt is involved in various movements like Chipko movement, Voters Education Movement, Child Rights, Human rights Commissions, Reformin International Financial institutions. He has wide lytravelled his own country as well as to other countries like UK, Australia, South Africa, France, Canada, Philippines, Kenya, Thailand, and Nepal. At, present, he is research in go issues linked with Corporate Social Responsibility, good Governance, Work and well being in organized and unorganized sector, poverty, volunteerism as well as welfare of SCs andOBCs.
